This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Jouelanity (1500 Magruder St #538, El Paso, TX 79925, United States) collects when you use jouelanity.com, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to sell and deliver products and to support you.
1. Information we collect
- When you order: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, the items you buy and your payment method. Card details are entered into a payment form that our gateway provider serves from its own domain inside our checkout page, and are transmitted to that provider rather than stored by us; we receive only a confirmation and the last four digits of a card. To create the payment, that provider is also sent the billing details you enter at checkout – your name, e-mail address, telephone number and billing address.
- When you create an account: your name, email address, password (stored hashed) and your order history.
- When you contact us: your name, email address or phone number, your message and any photos or attachments you send (for example for a return or warranty claim).
- Automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you got to the Site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).
2. How we use it
- To process and deliver your order, take payment and send order, dispatch and tracking emails.
- To answer your questions and handle returns, refunds and warranty claims.
- To prevent fraud and protect the Site and our customers.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve it, and to measure the performance of our advertising.
- To send you marketing emails only if you have asked for them; every email contains an unsubscribe link.
- To comply with legal obligations such as tax and customs record-keeping.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to do their job for us:
- Our fulfillment partner and FedEx – name, address and phone number so that your parcel can be packed, shipped, cleared through customs and delivered.
- Payment processors – PayPal, and the gateway provider that serves and processes our card payment form, to take payment and handle refunds and chargebacks. That provider receives your name, e-mail address, telephone number, billing address and card details.
- Google services – Google Ads and Google Merchant Center, to list our products, to show our ads and to measure whether they lead to a sale. Google may use cookies and identifiers as described in Google’s privacy policy.
- Our website hosting and email providers, which store the Site’s data and deliver our emails.
- Authorities where the law requires it, for example customs declarations or a valid legal request.
4. Where your data is processed
Jouelanity is based in the United States. Shipping details are shared with our fulfillment partner at Chung Shun Knitting Centre, Kwai Chung, Hong Kong and with FedEx so that your order can be dispatched and delivered. Our service providers may process data in other countries under their own safeguards.
5. Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: (a) essential cookies that make the cart, checkout and account log-in work; and (b) advertising cookies (Google Ads) that measure conversions and may be used to show you relevant ads. We do not run a web-analytics package on this Site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential cookies cannot be disabled without breaking checkout. You can opt out of Google’s advertising cookies at adssettings.google.com.
6. How long we keep it
- Order records, invoices and customs documentation: 7 years, for tax and accounting purposes.
- Account information: for as long as your account is open, then deleted within 30 days of your request to close it.
- Support correspondence: up to 2 years after the matter is closed.
- Advertising and conversion data held by Google on our behalf: for the retention period set in our Google Ads account.
7. Your rights
You may ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it (subject to the record-keeping obligations above), or to stop sending you marketing. Email support@jouelanity.com from the address used on your order and we will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you live in California you have the right to know the categories of personal information we collect (identifiers, commercial information, internet activity and payment confirmation, as described in section 1), the purposes (section 2) and the categories of third parties we share it with (section 3); the right to request deletion; the right to correct inaccurate information; and the right not to be discriminated against. We do not sell personal information and have not done so in the preceding 12 months. Our use of advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA; you can opt out by emailing support@jouelanity.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” or by disabling advertising cookies as described in section 5. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
9. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@jouelanity.com and we will delete it.
10. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, payment details are handled by PCI-compliant payment providers, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil your order and support you.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed; material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
