Description
Black rhodium takes this Barzel ring down to a near-black surface, and the created fire opal at the center reads bright against it. The contrast is the reason the design holds together: a pale, shifting stone sitting on a band that gives it nothing to compete with.
The plating is black rhodium and the overall color of the piece is black, with an opal set as the center stone. Black rhodium is applied as a surface finish, so the color lives on the outside of the metal rather than in the alloy underneath.
It suits evening wear and darker outfits, where the stone reads brightest. Because the finish is a coating, keep polishing pastes and abrasive cleaners away from it, as both will cut straight through. A dry soft cloth is all this ring needs between wears.
