Description
This set pairs a pendant on a fine cable chain with a matching pair of lever-back earrings. Each piece centers a faceted oval turquoise in a bright sky blue, held in prongs, with one small round white stone set just above it. The blue runs even across all three stones, so the pendant and the earrings read as one group.
The metal is 925 sterling silver, stamped on the lever back of the earring along with the maker's mark. These are simulated turquoise, not mined stone: natural turquoise is opaque and is not faceted, while these pass light and are cut with facets. They are faceted rather than left as smooth cabochons, which gives the blue some movement in light. The earrings fasten with lever backs. The manufacturer lists the set as MGZ-0817-OV-TR-GR-LQ1-SS.
The cool white of silver holds the blue without warming it, which suits denim, white shirts and gray knits. Turquoise is a soft, porous stone, so keep it away from perfume, lotion and household cleaners, and clean it with a barely damp cloth instead of soaking it.
